The Air Jordan 5 was released in 1990. The Air Jordan V was the first in the Air Jordan line to have a clear rubber sole.Limited to only 100 pairs each, and were given to unfortunate kids or auctioned off as charity. Two models which are the Black/Black-Metallic Silver and White/Fire Red-Black had MJs number “23″ on the side. The air jordan 5 shoes were retro’d in late 1999 in white/black-fire red and black/black-met silver and once again there was a great demand for them.

Once again Hatfield came up with a revolutionary design for the new shoe.Also there were lacelocks which made it easy to strap them on.A few elements were picked up from its predecessor but it featured a great silver/reflex tounge and a clear/see-through rubber sole which gave it a totally unique look.
